Rewriting this site in ObjFW – Done!!!

Check it outtttt, it only took me like what? A couple months? I know, I know, I’ve been neglecting posts since I’ve been focusing on finishing Hanami…

But seriously though, I’m so proud of it and myself for sticking to it and finally deploying it! It powers both of my websites, of course that includes this one. It is heavily Blosxom inspired and written in ObjFW, utilizing OFHTTPServer without relying on any third party dependencies!!! Did I mention it also has basic support for running on Windows? I don’t know why in god’s green earth you would do that but you definitely can! LOL.

I’d like to extend my gratitude to ObjFW’s creator, I had many issues compiling with clang 3.2 (don’t ask why) and he fixed em all, in the process I even found a DoS in his own OFHTTPServer based application lololol. Without him I could not have done this, and oh boy do I love Objective-C.

Although…………. I had to try out servlets for a uni class and you know……. java wasn’t so bad…..

You know that gallery button in the header of this site? and how it doesn’t work? Imagine if it were an actual gallery powered by a dedicated servlet application. That would be sick no? OMG I am getting terrible ideas writing this.

I do promise however that I will be posting more often, thank you for reading this post and have a wonderful tremendous night! May Haruhi bless us all.

Rewriting this site in ObjFW

You may read that title and immediately go: “Why?” and the answer is simple: Why not?

I love Objective-C, in fact it is my favorite language. If I could get a Foundation style framework and a cross platform objc runtime I’d be set for life. The best part is that Objective-C is a sort of extension on top of regular old C, you could write bindings for all your favorite C frameworks, and there’s basically a C library for almost everything you could want. Someone even wrote GTK bindings for ObjFW, generated by script, now that’s cool.

Anyway, since blosxom is like 300 lines and its functionality quite simple, I figured I’d “rewrite” it in Objective-C. Once it’s done I guess I’ll post the source code here.

That’s all for today’s post ^_^
